The Alberta New Democratic Party filed a statement with Elections Alberta announcing a Leadership Contest in 2024. The date of official call of the Leadership Contest was February 5, 2024, and nominations closed March 15, 2024. The date of the Leadership vote was June 22, 2024. Naheed Nenshi was voted in as the new leader.
