Citizen Initiative Petitions

Amendments to the citizen initiative provisions effective May 1, 2026, extended the timeframe for citizen initiative petition proponents to file their financial reports. The due date for A Referendum Relating to Alberta Independence is revised to July 3, 2026 and No More Coal Mining in Alberta’s Rockies is revised to August 10, 2026.
